Ubuntu stickers have arrived

Dear Abby,

Frankly, I have to say that taking my laptop out in public is very
embarassing!  The handrest is cluttered with stickers that read: "Intel
Inside" and "Powered by Windows XP". In a gathering I'm sometimes too
embarassed to even open the lid. What's the best way to remove these
stickers without damaging the cheap plastic they're stuck to?
