Hullo, René,
I managed to remove the same stickers from my laptop with
minimal fuss. They look daunting, but they're actually your
basic adhesive stickers made out of hard plastic or
something so they look like they'll take your case with it
if you try to peel them off (I had the same fear too).
I just worked at them with my fingernail until a corner came
loose and then peeled the stickers back nice and slowly.
After, I carefully flattened out the 'Made for Microsoft
Windows' sticker and re-stuck it to a kitty-litter box :D
To get the sticker residue off (because it will leave some)
I used a little orange cleaner (I used Orange Glo from
Canadian Tire) and it wiped off quickly and cleanly and left
my laptop smelling like an orchard! I actually didn't
research whether orange oil can damage laptop plastic (there
wasn't a warning to that effect on the bottle) as I later
discovered that ammonia does and orange oil can be pretty
powerful stuff. However, that was seven months ago and I
haven't noticed any damage or softness in the plastic so I
haven't lost sleep over it.
With regards,
Borden
