Helane, 

I am glad you were able to get wifi working. 
At first I did not read your post carefully. And assumed you where experiencing problems with wifi using feisty. 

Some people are having problems with wifi using feisty. 
Work arrounds include adding a junk char after the ssid in /etc/network/interfaces, using wlassistant, and manually bringing
up the wifi connection.

Hope these problems can be resolved before the feisty release date.
I will make another posting on the release date and provided bug status.

thank you for advice... i was careful with setting up the system as i am 
new to linux, but i already tried to work some things up. for now i am 
impressed with ubuntu... :)
