EVOLUTION

I usually use Thunderbird as an email client, but I thought I should try
Evolution, as it is obviously the email client of choice with Ubuntu.
So I imported all my mail and attempted to import my contacts, which
were exported from Thunderbird in .ldif format.
Unfortunately, when imported into Evolution, although all the info. is
saved, the import takes place by last name. For example: Joe Smith and
Jane Smith are listed as Smith and Smith. If you have a large number of
Smiths or other family members in your address book, this can prove
quite a challenge to find the one you want to write to. Does anyone
know the workaround for this problem? I looked for Evolution help, but
sadly its not available though Synaptic or anywhere else that I could
find. I would really like to know how to do this import, as Evolution
otherwise looks to be excellent.
So for the time being, I'm back with Thunderbird.
Thanks, Maurice
