Need help with Ubuntu 7.04

I upgraded my computer from Ubuntu 6.1 to 7.04 last week.

Since then I have been forced to use my WinXP computer because my Ubuntu
computer no longer works.

 

6.1 worked fine but I made the mistake and moved to 7.04.

Now my Ubuntu computer has a problem.  When I turn on the computer I can
see the that Ubuntu is starting up.  I see a quick message about Grub
and then "Starting up..." and then nothing.

Screen is blank and it stays blank.  I am not sure if it did boot up or
what is going on.  No error messages appear.

I have reinstalled 7.04 two times now and all seems normal during
installation.  The installation process seems to work without any
issues.  The computer spits the CD out at the end of the process and the
computer attempts to restart.  Then nothing.

 

Anybody got any suggestions.
