Although I have not used TrueCrypt myself, I certainly plan to, and
soon. It has an excellent reputation from everyone I have discussed it
with. AFAIK, TrueCrypt can also be used on memory sticks too (and of
course is FOSS and runs on windows and linux, though not on Mac IIRC)
