I have an HP1510 worked with all Ubuntu.It loaded by itself. 
 
UBUNTU - I am what I am because of who we all are.

I'm going to add another vote for HP.  I have a PSC (printer-scanner-copier) 1310, and it's worked perfectly out of the box since I started using Ubuntu (Hoary).
