Hi Not sure, but you may have installed that 6.10 under another
Language, or somehow changed the install to another language, or used a
Font that does not have that many symbols. The result is that when
Characters get displayed, your computer then goes to display the
characters, but there are no character symbols to display, hence you get
little boxes. I ran into something like this once, on a computer I once
made in the 1970 s.

In word processors you can set the default fonts, and then the size,
well you want to set it to something that has at least 128 Ascii symbols
for the Characters, that way you now get to be able to rad what the
Confuser faithfully puts on the screen.

Hello,

I have a problem with my Ubuntu 6.10 operating system. When I boot up
I do not get any character display, all I get is small square boxes
where the characters are supposed to be. I ran 6.10 for a couple of
months before this problem showed up. When I use a programme like
Firefox the text shows up as usual within the programme itself. I was
wondering if anyone had ideas as to what could have gone wrong.
Moreover, I would welcome any suggestions as to how to remedy this
situation.

Happy Holidays,

Dave
