Dual Booting Visa and Kubuntu

Hey Folks
I managed to get myself a copy of Vista yesterday and ran into a
couple issues. Typically when i installed XP and dualbooted with Edgy
I would install the windows partition first on the entire drive, then
install (k)ubuntu and resize the NTFS partition to about 50% in the
installer on the first half of the partition leaving the rest on the
second half and installing GURB in the MBR.
I attempted to do this last night only to find that Vista seemed to
puke shortly after the "Microsoft corporation" scrolling bar. It
pretty much just sat there for 30 minutes with no hdd activity noted.
At the time I reasoned that I had somehow broke Vista in a way which
was untypical before.
My question is.. Is there a preferred method of now dualbooting
windows and ubuntu? One more note.. Before i left for work I used the
vista installer to partition the drive in two, and then try to
reinstall in a similar manner. I'll let you all know if this works
when i get a chance to finish the install.
Alex
