Operation Cold Comfort

I could possibly configure my laptop to get everything running.  It's
a pretty good laptop with a few kinks running Ubuntu (thanks to our
generous friends at Acer who won't touch Linux with a 10-foot-pole).
I just don't feel very comfortable with people messing around with it.
 In addition, tomorrow night I have a family dinner at 6:00 so I would
only effectively be available from 4:00 to 5:00 and as sure as there
are little green apples I'm not leaving my laptop unattended for a
second!

Is anyone going to enter the semi-hourly raffles for the Microsoft funpack?
