recommends needed for softwares/packages

um, do you know if this is the correct command to get the update first
and then after the download? :: 

sudo apt-get update deb http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main

or just the install command line as they suggest :: 

apt-get update
apt-get install slimserver

the update thing i have not come across yet, so dunno what they mean....
