dns issues

Hello:

Whenever I restart my laptop w/edgy on a new network (eg home-work) my dns 
entries don't seem to get reset. I get a new correct ip address but it seems 
that my dns entries don't. Doing a sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart seems 
to do the trick. But isn't that script run at system startup?

This has been occurring for some time now. But it is really starting to get on 
my nerves.

Any ideas what setting I have to change?
