Installation

I have v5.10 for x386 pc and can't get past "detecting hardware to find cd
rom drives" the red bar indicating the installation progress is stalled at
86% and the message below the red bar says "lording module 'ide-cd' for
'Linux ATAPI CD-ROM' ...
 
I have check the resources on the IBM Aptiva which I installing the software
and it more than meets the minimum requirements.
 
Any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
