Never mind! Actually, I'm pretty excited. I figured out the problem on my
own: I installed the "Restricted Drivers Manager" from the repos, even
though it's an Ubuntu application, and now my card is working great.
As soon as I rebooted I could see a difference right away. Also, in my "ATI
control" all the features are now enabled.
Wicked!

Okay, I tried this, and it seems to have worked out except now in the "ATI
Control" part that is in my K menu I get the message "Driver does not
provide FireGL X11 extensions! Panel Components will operate only
partially."
Does anyone know what this means? More importantly, does anyone know what I
should do now?
Once I click "Okay," I get an ATI screen that is pretty sparse.
