Tom, I think it is important to emphasize that the right tool for your
job depends, as usual, on your requirements :-)
Unison does have certain advantages over rsync. For example, it does
'bi-directional' synchronization, meaning that it can synchronize 2
hosts that have changed content, in both directions (rsync is typically
used to do uni-directional synchronization). This can be damned handy
:-)
Another nice feature: unison will synchronize between wind0ze and linux
boxes/file systems. And unison does include an rsync type of
algorhythm, in the sense that it will only transfer the information that
has changed, and not *all* the files. Again, handy on occasion.
Anyhow, YMMV, but do realize that the right tool for the job really
depends on exactly what you are trying to accomplish.
