version #s: .04 beta while .10 is stable?

I'd wager to put that down to the logical software lifecycle than to any
specific regimentation.
Version 1: Test
Version 2: Fix the bugs
Version 3: Try something new
Version 4: Fix the bugs
Version 5: Try something new
Version 6: Fix the bugs
And so on and so forth.
