For data recording or even an Audio CD Record is as easy as inserting the blank cd/dvd on the disc tray and following the instructions
:)
My mother loved this way of recording cds ("so much easier then windows" she said!)

Already there. Just right click on an iso and chose burn to disk. For
data cds, it is part of Nautilus. Ironically, this is part of Ubuntu
that more experienced users complain about because it is "too
integrated". They expect a standalone burning app.
