Importing photos

Hi:

Pictures in the Confuser World, have extensions. They can be PNG, or
JPG, or PSD, or numerous other formats. Your Camera, might make them as
JPGs or Jpegs, however the programs, might only be able to use pictures
in some other format. What might be required is a Program that has the
ability to convert formats of pictures, to the ones that are required by
the programs. GIMP allows for this kind of thing under SAVE AS. You load
the Pictures into GIMP, and then make use of SAVE AS and pick the file
type that say F-Spot needs. Gimp does a pretty good job of converting
Formats, and even reducing the file size, if you want to send the
pictures as E-mails. You might in that case use JPG, and lower the
Compression and that lowers the file size, with a trade-off in Picture
Quality.

Now there may be a plug-ins in some Picture related programs. I don't
use F-Spot that often, yet.

Alfred!
