7.10 does not like Monitors.

Hi:
A fellow in town downloaded Ubuntu 7.10 for me today. He tried it and
his monitor could not handle the signal it was "out of range".

I tried it out on my KDS Monitor, and the bottom 2/3 of the monitor went
Pink, while the top third went white at first, and then was looking like
the scan frequency was much too high.

Guess I'll need the Command line to try to fix this?
