Is the Hardy stable enough to upgrade?

  it's not in beta, it's alpha, AFAIK.
  I have installed dapper twice and attempted upgrades, and the second
time it mostly worked.  This is on a spare laptop, and is prior to
subjecting several hundred users to an upgrade.  It may be ready for a
new install, but the upgrade took significant apt-get-fu.
