If you want to be in control of this yourself, you can always run your
own.  There is an OSS program called Boxroom which lets you run an
online file repository somewhat like box.net/Strongspace.  It's
written in Ruby on Rails and runs well with Apache/Mongrel.

Unfortunately the author is a little busy and development on it seems
to have slowed, but at my last job I worked with him a lot on getting
some features implemented, and we sponsored the introduction of
virtual hosting into the system.

If you have any questions about it I'd be glad to answer them.  It's
been a few months though so I might not remember!
