What pissed me off was how our public national broadcasting service
denied access to watch our own national leaders' debate to many by
streaming in a non-free container and codec format. The CBC has argued
that the non-free format they use for video is in everyone's best
interest. Apparently holding its viewers hostage to software vendors of
non-free data formats is in everyone's interest. This is an issue I
would have liked to have seen presented on the debates, the utility, if
any, of non-free(dom) technology used in the publicly funded
institutions.
