GNU Targets

Does anyone know of a table / matrix anywhere which lists all of the
different common build targets (e.g. arm, i386, i686, ppc, amd64, etc.)
and what specific hardware is implied with each? e.g. Does i686 presume
SSE2 instruction set at least?
