Has anyone tried the Kubuntu installs ?

I have tried both CDs and USB stick installs [unetbootin and 9.04
created] with absolutely no success. One attempt even rendered a
previous 9.04 Gnome install unbootable.

The target machine is a Dell Dimension 8400 /P4 3.2 Ghz/1Gb Ram /ATI
Radeon. This machine has been running 7.10 with minor glitches for some
time.

I have tried all the boot options with no luck. I am about to try a
variant built with KDE 3.5. One consistent system indication is the Caps
and Scroll lock lights flash when it hangs.

Suggestions anyone ?
