Hi All,
Every once in a while I like to backup all of my pictures on my Ubuntu 9.10 machine.
I like to keep this process very simple, so all I have been doing is creating a .tar file of the pictures folder then copying it to a data dvd. Recently the size of the .tar became larger than the capacity of the dvd. So my question is, is there a way that I can split the .tar file into multiple files that have a max size that equals the capacity of a blank dvd so that I can copy them to more than one dvd's?
I'm not interested in any backup programs, or scripts to make it easier to do. I like to keep it simple. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
