I have not liked how unstable Kubuntu is and that is why I moved over to
Ubuntu using Gnome even though I like KDE better. I have grown to like
Gnome better, even though not as much as KDE.

With Ubuntu 9.10 I have had no problems. An easy install on both
machines I have (Dell Mini 9, and Dell Inspiron 1525). Everything
worked out of the box on both machines and I am loving 9.10.

I must admit that I have been tempted to switch over to Debian and Try
KDE on there, but I gave Debian a try just recently and I had some
serious problems. Stable had WAY to old of software for me. With
Testing not recommended by the Debian FAQ I tried out unstable. I
really liked how it had the most current software, but it was really to
unstable for me. I am willing to live with the odd bug now and then,
but not with a system that does not work.

Testing seems like a great medium. It still haves software that is
nicely current and it seemed stable enough for me, but I really did not
like the warning in the FAQ. It said that every now and then a show
stopper bug will make it into testing and it could take weeks, and maybe
even months to make its way down to testing from unstable. I cannot
have my computer go out for weeks and there are still some problems in
Linux I can not fix myself. Maybe again in the future I will try our
KDE in Testing, but I don't know.
