Hi:

Just thought I would chip in with a greeting from an Ubuntu user north of
60. I doubt I'm the only one, but perhaps the only one in Yellowknife. I
first heard of Ubuntu (although I was a fits and starts Linux user many
years ago and I cut my computer science degree on a Unix system way back in
the 70's) from a fellow northerner in Whitehorse and when I finally got a
computer that had enough disk capacity to dual boot Linux and dare I say it
(hush, hush - Windows) I was on my way. I hardly ever boot that "other" OS
now. I'm using Ubuntu (AMD64) on an Acer laptop primarily as my office
desktop. A few bumps along the way - especially when it comes to getting
drivers working for modems, wireless and other more obscure hardware, but
right now I am chugging along just fine with Jaunty.

Are there any another "north of 60" Ubuntu users out there?

Peter
