A tad on the old side but nonetheless I did sent this on, when it came 
out,  to the Edmonton police chief and got a polite reply but no 
indication that they would consider the move to Open Source.

I still think forwarding these types of articles to the local 
authorities would help increase awareness especially if we all did it in 
our respective cities.
