I used it once perhaps two years ago, and wondered why I needed wine to run a browser. This was back when I was running the Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.

It slowed down my computer (a HP ePC running at 933 MHz with 512 MB ram and 20 GB HD, but ran albeit with crashes galore.

A year ago I tried Chrome out on a friend's Vista machine (3 GHz IBM, 2 GB ram, 300 GB HD). It ran faster on that hardware under Windows because Chrome was made for it.

Over the next two years, I upgraded to a Dell Optiplex GX60 (2 GHz, 2 GB ram and 40 GB HD)

Today I use mainly Firefox, and only use Galeon when I need to look at one web page when troubleshooting during a computer project.

Will I add Google Chrome to Ubuntu 9.10 on my current computer? No, because of the limitations of the Intel 845GL chip set.

However, once I upgrade to better hardware I might reconsider using Chrome but for now, Firefox suits me just fine.
