trouble with todays update

About 1 in every 30 boots my HP laptop (dv7) has no response from the keyboard 
or touch pad. This can happen when booting into Windows or Linux it doesn't 
seem to matter. A hard-reboot (holding the power button) is required and 
everything works as usual.

If it's still acting up, I did see a forum post that seems very similar to 
your problem (it's related to Kubuntu, but you might want to keep an eye on 
the post):
