Introduction

Hello World/List!

I am not sure what the process is on here, but I suppose I should introduce 
myself in some form:

My name is Phil and I am not exactly what you would call new to Linux (started 
with Slackware in '99 and have been using Kubuntu since 2008) but I am 
certainly new to this mailing list.

I live in the Kingston (Ontario) region and I work as a Fire Fighter by day, 
and Computer Science student by night (okay..... the day and night switch 
quite often and they tend to blur together quite a bit as well).

I do a lot of contract programming work, which is mostly PHP, SQL, and Java 
but also some C/C++, on the side.

I tend to advocate when the situation arises but, I admit, I don't randomly 
talk to people about Linux.

There used to be a Kingston Linux User Group, or so Google says.... but it has 
been abandoned for a very long time. So I don't know anyone who, knowingly, 
uses Linux on a regular basis around this area.

Anyway, that's me in a short and sweet manner.
