Apps greying out

If you are finding apps greying out more often it might mean you have a run
away process soaking up cpu time -- hence when other apps do something cpu
intensive they are more likely to be greyed out.

I like to run the system monitor applet in my panel so I can see if the cpu
is racing -- you can then fire up the system monitor and kill the offending
process.
