Did you guys ever consider that he may have just installed an 
application which could be throwing our errors to a log file? I've had 
half my hard drive gone before I realized that my log files were taking 
over because of a bad config file...

I don't think you need to jump directly to viruses and hackers, no 
offense Alfred, but most of the time when things go wrong, it has to do 
with user error
