Lucid Lynx in VM

I have tried to install Lucid in VMware player twice unsuccessfully. This is
the first version I've encountered which defaults to 'easy install', which
basically means you input your username and password of choice and the
installation takes care of itself.

The problem is I have no override for this 'easy install' and both times
authentication failed when I tried to log in.

I have also tried twice to get Lucid installed on VirtualBox and I don't
know what is happening there. When I try to get the file mounted or the CD
with the image mounted, nothing happens.

Has anybody else tried or been successful installing Lucid on a VM?

My current OS is Hardy.
