gnome 3.2

Try running live Mint 12 - Lisa. It's Ubuntu-based, but natively released
with GNOME 3.2 and a bunch of shell extensions that turned it into a pretty
usable DE for actual desktops. Even stock it beats Unity hands down, and if
you install a couple more extensions, it can get to be pretty pimpin.. I am
using Cairo with it, though. Starting to warm up to the combination. Unity
was pretty decent in 11.10 but it's a DE only used by one major distro, so
I didn't wanna waste my time learning the ins and outs. Here's my setup (a
little racy, no porn, but still NSFW) http://i43.tinypic.com/jggk7d.png By
the way, I do have a few icons on the desktop, but i temporarily turned off
the extension in order to show off the wallpaper ;)
