You can do this with the ubuntu live cd, select "Try ubuntu"
Then go to package manager and install gparted
Then run gparted (and partition your drive)
Then run the install icon on the desktop.
(Saves 1 cd, just a bit longer to do, but then again gparted live cd =
always useful)
