STARS Edubuntu and Windows Server

Hi all,

My next question is STARS related.

Will a Linux or Windows Server both work in a school environment with a
Ubuntu pc??
I don't know exactly what I am asking yet, compatibility?
The problem has not been brought up yet I would like to be prepared.
