Numpad disabled?

Anyone know if numpad has a separate daemon/something than the rest of the kb?

HP ProBook 6555b, Ubuntu 10.10 (everything worked out of the box,
btw), set to the standard US kb
Same kb works fine in the Win7 install(I have 10.10 on a separate drive).

All the keys from the left side to the Enter work fine (including the
media keys), numlock itself and the enter on the right do work, but
the rest of numpad(0-9,home, end, +, -, *, / ) is unresponsive.

Started after my 4yr-old got his hands on the mouse for a few minutes,
though I can't see that doing it.

Tried removing and reinstalling the keymap, but didnt work.

Can't think of anything else that might help, but point it out if you can...
