camcorder/ SD card

Hi, I need help with a camcorder problem, as I posted earlier, I'm trying to
get a Canon FS300 camcorder to work with a Toshiba satellite p-300 running
ubuntu 10.10. When the camcorder is plugged in to an usb port it does not
see it, also when I plug-in a SD card (2G) all the pics and videos work ok
but when I plug-in a 16G SD/HC card the pictures come out ok but no videos!
