camcorder/ SD card

That's super weird.  It's usually an all-or-nothing thing - the card's
supported, or it's not.  I'm not sure what's going on if you can get
pictures off it but not videos.

SD readers are typically USB devices - does it show up when you do lsusb?

You said it works fine on Windows, right?
