Raymond Fix for card reader

"Hello all, I'm trying to get a Canon FS300a camcorder with a SD HC memory
card to work with a Toshiba p300 laptop with ubuntu 10.10 installed. When I
tried to use the SD card in the slot, the system crashed. Had to hold down

Is the socket dirty, did it short out? did you hear any noise when you put
it in.
It sounds to me like you need to use windows to save it.
I would definitely suggest Dual Boot, once windows saves it Ubuntu can get
it from Windows easily.
I believe this will work!
