Something wrong with Ubuntu

Thanks Bob and Eric,

I am using a desk top  HP  DC7600  computer.

A Lenovo infra red mouse.

A Microsoft ergonomic keyboard.

The mouse and cursor seems to be in good condition and working ok as far as I can tell.


I will keep the points you mention in mind and watch what happens as I continue to use it.




Eric,  in regards to your question:


I haven't notice any problems with any other websites or operations.

BTW,  I think that was also happening on Libre Office Writer   a few days ago.

Or it could of been Hotmail Skydrive. 

I can't remember exactly.

I will keep that in mind as time goes on.

    Sometimes the palms of my hands rest on
      the laptop "mouse" touchpad, accidentally highlighting a bunch of
      text and cut'n'pasting it somewhere else on the page.  If this is
      happening to you, turn off the touchpad - there may be a keystroke
      with the function key that does it, or a text command like
      "synclient touchpadoff=1".

      

      

      I once used a mouse with a bad cable, and was plagued by all sorts
      of strange behaviour: double-clicks when I single-clicked; text
      highlighting was mysteriously intermittent; the mouse cursor
      jumped all over the screen.  If this is happening to you, try
      replacing the mouse.

      

      

      By the way, it helps if you describe the problem in the subject
      line of the message, eg. "Problem: highlighted text appears
      somewhere else in body of e-mail".  It's always a good idea to
      mention the software you're using eg. Internet Explorer or Outlook
      Express.  If you're on the Web quote the URL of the Website you're
      using, eg. "Can't send mail from http://mail.example.org/adbot/"

 ( I am not sure if that is the right number or not.  It was a new release last spring, or early summer.

When I am writing an email  ( in this case they were above average  long emails, maybe two or three pages) and go back and want to edit it.

If I highlight with curser and  delete something,  I later find it appearing some where else in the body of my email.

This happened on my yahoo and hotmail accounts.


Why and how do I fix it?
