Thanks for the heads up on System 76.. will have a look at them... :)
I ran into the suspend issue on a Mint12 machine running Cinnamon vs.
Gnome 3, which I 'fixed' by setting all the power settings to either
Never or Do Nothing (closing the lid etc.). When I went back to Ubuntu
I set the power the same way and no issues at all. Again it might be
conflict between xorg and the bios or video settings.
