Slow 12.04

Don't know what's going on with my machine in the last few weeks.
-It's taking a long time to boot up.(for grub to load and for system
itself to load.
-Evolution seems to hang or lock up occasionally. (Greys out the
screen) 
The copy paste below for instance took 20sec to actually happen.
-No apport reports seem to happen any more.
-Does any of this fit together with others experience?
