upgrades

I don't actually use software-properties-gtk, sorry. A quick search
showed a bug on launchpad about this though.

So instead, can you do:
"sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.backup"

Then open /etc/apt/sources.list again, and do your own search and
replace, or replace what you pasted earlier with:

deb http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty main restricted
deb-src http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty main restricted

## Major bug fix updates produced after the final release of the
## distribution.
deb http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty-updates main restricted
deb-src http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty-updates main restricted

## N.B. software from this repository is ENTIRELY UNSUPPORTED by the Ubuntu
## team. Also, please note that software in universe WILL NOT receive any
## review or updates from the Ubuntu security team.
deb http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty universe
deb-src http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty universe
deb http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty-updates universe
deb-src http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca/ubuntu/ trusty-updates universe

***the above sources are probably incomplete compared to your version
(said to be 55 line but you posted a shorter output)

Good luck
