Geany is good. I used to use it a lot and it supports just about every
format under the sun.
There's also VIM which, while having a large learning step, is fantastic.
It does support every format under the sun.
Another one worth a mention is Sublime Text 3. While it is closed source
and pay for, it runs on windows, Mac, and Linux and is kind of freaking
amazing.
Everyone of the editors mentioned above has some sort of plugin ability to
allow you to personalize the editor to your liking. I know for a fact that
both sublime text and vim have saved me countless hours on editing text in
what would normally be a manual process.
