Stability problems with media files on 14.04

Is there a particular reason you have installed the ffmpg and vlc
repositories? Both libraries and applications are available in the
standard repositories and should be adequate for almost all users.

PPA's have always been risky, particularly right after a major version
upgrade, so their use is usually discouraged unless necessary.
