If it's a picture in an email, you can just save a copy of the picture 
attachment, no need to use print screen for that. If you let us know which 
email client you are using, we can help you with that if you need.

I'm going to assume that you are running the default unit interface, if 
not please correct me and I'll amend the following.

If you run "gnome-printscreen --interactive" in a terminal, do you get any 
errors?
