Have you only been removing and reinstall bluez, or something else,
possibly installing updates as well?

The bluetooth management software itself is fairly rarely to blame;
that said, it's starting to be pretty old now (which is something
we'll try to fix in the next release), so it could be that it has
issues with newer hardware.

Looking quickly at it, I don't see any meaningful updates to bluetooth on 14.04.
