Problem mit der Bildschirmauflösung

Hi,

danke für den Tipp, habe es probiert, leider funktioniert es nicht, der
xserver startet in diesem Fall gar nicht :-(

Ich bekomme in dem Fall nur einen blauen Bildschirm (oje, das erinnert
wohl an die berühmten bluescreens einer bekannten Marke ;-) und einen
Schriftzug darin mit dem Text "der Xserver konnte nicht gestartet
werden, blablabla....".

Es ist echt frustrierend, ich versteh das Ganze nicht. Ubuntu-504 hat
bei meiner ersten Installation einwandfrei den Xserver gestartet und es
gab diese Auflösungsprobleme nicht??? ###:-|

Ich frage mich, welche Daten der Gnome hier wohl einliest, denn unter
den Einstellungen im Menü System zeigt er mir wie gesagt nur die 640x680
und 60Hz zur Auswahl an, obwohl im file xorg.conf alle 3 Werte
aufgelistet sind????!

Kann mir da noch wer helfen?
